# Derwent Marathon/Mike Jones Memorial Race.

This is a Kingston Kayak Club Event, taking place on 19th June near Howden....so local! Full details are here : entries.gbcanoemarathon.co.uk/entries/159

These events are great fun, with the opportunity to win stuff! If you don't want to compete alone, there is the Doubles class that can be done in K2, Duo or Open Canoe. You can do it in a C2 if you can kneel that long.

We have a Wednesday night session on 15th June which will give you the opportunity of trying out a races boat and race paddles. Please can you let me know if you want to try a race boat on the 15th so I can load a suitable one on the car.

**Please note, you don't need to paddle a race boat to complete in the event.**
