Well Done GB Women’s Team

Here at Kingston Kayak Club our female paddlers and female volunteers are vital to the success and strength of the Club.  This has been shown yet again by the success of KKC Members within the GB Women’s Team at De Paddel.

50% of the team are KKC Paddlers who also play in the Women’s Club team which took 2nd Place in the National Canoe Polo Premier League.

This years De Paddel tournament saw the best teams in the world descend on the small village of Dikkebus, south west of Ypres, Belgium.  GB Women were up against some tough competition to take the final step on the Podium, with New Zealand in 2nd and Netherlands in 1st.

Congratulations to all the team, but a massive well done to the KKC Members and their coach Leighton James.

Our paddlers will be in action again at The World Championship in St Omer, France on 16th to 21st August.  Andy Lowthorpe will also be coaching the under 21 men’s team and Lee Busby the under 21 women’s team as the Worlds.
