 Everyone had a fantasic time this weekend at Hull International Polo Competition at Princes Quay in Hull. Leaving Little time for recovery Kingston Kayak Club (in association with Lower Wharfe) are looking forward to their annual Howsham Weir Slalom Competition. Howsham Slalom has a traditional feel about it with basic camping close to the river away Members of the KKC Slalom Team attended the Sowerby Bridge Div 3/4 slalom at the weekend. Water levels were very low but Halifax CC still managed to run the event which was well attended and great fun. James Sewart came 1st in Division 4 on Saturday and got promoted to Division 3, his brother Tom was first  We are running a Mini Slalom series for KKC paddlers aged 16 and under. This is a new event aimed at letting you all having a go at Canoe Slalom, racing your friends at the club and will help in working towards your paddlepower qualifications. All unranked paddlers 16 and under who are currently paddling outdoors  Sue Burgess is organising a club trip to Bala, North Wales in August this year from Friday 20 August to Sunday 22 August. Hannah Burgess Hannah who is currently studying at Loughborough Uni. has been selected for the GB U23 slalom team and is a reserve for the senior team. I’m sure everyone at KKC wishes Hannah the best of luck in the GB squad this year. From what I can determine this fits in with the 2nd week of Hull and East Riding Schools Easter Holidays. Monday, 5th. April Tuesday, 6th. April Wednesday, 7th. April Below are listed dates the KKC slalom team will be competing at slalom. Coaches, coaching and equipment will be available. Division 4 events are suitable for all. Once you have gained promotion from Division 4 (by finishing in the top 20%) you can then go on to compete at Division 3. On Saturday 16 January 2010 Kingston Kayak Club, Albert Avenue, Hull, was voted the best canoe club in England by a panel of experts from the British Canoe Union. Read more »
