Joining & Membership

Whether you’re trying kayaking for the first time, paddling with family or looking to develop your skills, Kingston Kayak Club welcomes paddlers of all ages and abilities.

New to the Club?

You don’t need to become a paid member straight away. Come along, try a few sessions and get to know us. We normally encourage paddlers to join after three or four sessions. You can use Club equipment during organised sessions, and a coach will help you get started.

Why join Kingston Kayak Club?

  • Save £2 per session compared with our non-member price. That’s £20 saved over ten sessions.
  • Hire Club boats and equipment for off-site trips, subject to availability, suitability and Club arrangements.
  • Enjoy more paddling opportunities through Club activities, trips, coaching and competitions.
  • Paddle UK Club Associate benefits for eligible Club members, including insurance during recognised Club activities and access to selected introductory participation and competition events without a separate day ticket, subject to Paddle UK’s conditions.
  • Support a volunteer-run Club. Membership subscriptions help us maintain equipment, develop coaching and keep paddling accessible.

Club Associate Membership and insurance

Eligible Club members who do not hold a qualifying Paddle UK individual membership can be registered as Paddle UK Club Associates. Club Associate cover applies to recognised Club paddling and volunteering activities, and certain specified introductory participation and competition events, subject to the applicable terms.

It does not provide a personal waterways licence or insurance for paddling independently outside Club activities. For details see Paddle UK’s Club Associate Membership guidance.

Before your first session

Please complete your JustGo profile accurately, including any relevant medical information and emergency contact details. At your first session, a coach will discuss your experience, goals and safe participation, and explain Club expectations. Please read our Codes of Conduct and Policies.

For questions about joining or choosing a membership type, please contact Kingston Kayak Club.

Club memberships, session prices and benefits are subject to the current Club arrangements and applicable Paddle UK conditions. Fees shown here should be checked against JustGo before publishing.
