British Canoeing 1 & 2 Star Assessments

Over the summer the Club will be conducting 1 and 2 Star assessments.  These assessments are designed to assess your abilities within the sport we love and the 2 star is a prerequisite for the coaching scheme.  They are both flat water awards and involve padding a Kayak and a Canoe.

1 Star Assessment
Monday 7th August – Outdoor Pool
Juniors 7-8, Senior 8-9

2 Star Assessment
Sunday 3rd September
Club Weekend, Ellerton Lake, Catterick

If you wish to be assessed in either or both of these awards or have any questions, please email chair@kkc.org.uk  Below we have included links to the syllabuses.  The assessment will cost the standard session fee plus £7 for certification when you achieve the award.

Derwent Mike Jones Memorial Race 2017

Another Mike Jones has come and gone with the beautiful East Yorkshire weather playing its part as always. I hope that all the paddlers enjoyed the day and are encouraged to continue racing.

The full ranking results are on the BC website and I have attached a full listing on this page including the Fun Races.

Once again a huge thank you to those who helped on the day – Lesley, Claire, Geoff, Allison, Scott, Meg, Nikki, Pete and Sarah. Thanks are also due to the Environment Agency for the use of the site – a real gem.

On Facebook there are photos taken by Pete Tasker and by Glandford and Scunthorpe – enjoy them.

Thanks again on behalf of Kingston Kayak Club
